ClearPeaks helps GASCO develop an Oracle BI system from scratch
Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO) is a major global player, conducting onshore gas processing and the transportation of gas and liquid products.
GASCO is fully aware of the need for an up-to-date BI system to stay ahead in this challenging market, and decided to call in the ClearPeaks specialists to guide them through this development.
GASCO wants to develop an Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) System from scratch, building an Oracle data warehouse and BI system both based on 11g, the latest product version. Before going ahead with the project, ClearPeaks recommended running a Global Analysis Program in order to scope the project better and prepare a realistic project plan.
The ClearPeaks Global Analysis Program consists in understanding what the reporting requirements of the different departments involved are, seeing what tools and reports are currently employed, and recommending what technology to use.
ClearPeaks is guiding GASCO through the different stages of this BI journey, laying the foundations necessary for BI deployment.
The Solution
ClearPeaks interviewed business users from different business areas: HR, Finance, Procurement and Maintenance. These interviews were conducted on-site over two weeks by two of our senior BI consultants, with the objective of understanding the business from the inside, to see what reports were used, and to gather each department’s requirements. With all this information, ClearPeaks was able to understand the scope and size of the project.
After information gathering, our consultants worked off-site for two weeks, preparing a proposal for GASCO which would provide all the necessary tools and procedures to build their BI system.

ClearPeaks speaks at the Key Annual EMEA BI & EPM Oracle Partner Community Event
21st – 23rd June, Sitges (near Barcelona), Spain – The key annual EMEA BI & EPM Oracle Partner Community event took place where the latest news from Oracle strategy and industry experts was presented to propel business growth in Business Intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management.
The inauguration day was a success, where selected Oracle Partners had the opportunity to present about key topics to the panel. Many interesting presentations were given by the Partners about their personal success stories, industry experiences etc.
Gordon Cardiff, Co-founder and Managing Director from ClearPeaks, an Oracle Gold Partner & Specialized , also had the pleasure of giving a presentation in the event about ‘Working with Oracle, a BI partner’s perspective’; highlighting points about what a partner looks for from Oracle and feedback about what the Partners are satisfied with today and what can be improved in the future.
The Partner Voice:
To give a wider perspective and to create a representative presentation about the Partner opinion, ClearPeaks conducted a survey which was sent out, with support from Oracle, to Partners attending the EPM & BI Partner Forum. A wide range of topics were asked such as the process of becoming a partner, support & communication from Oracle, sales support, license discounts, cobranded campaigns & events, partner trainings, ROI, etc.
Partners were willing and open to share their thoughts and perspective about being a partner which allowed our presentation to be dynamic and representative. The overall feedback was generally positive; main points highlighted in our presentation were about improving and finding a solution to Sales & Collaborative Business, Administration Issues & Specialization, Product Marketing & Ideas, and Partner Training & Support.
Oracle Response:
In response to our presentation, Mike Hallett, Oracle Director Alliances & Channels EMEA, BI & EPM, spoke briefly about how BI & EPM Partners can get access to the help they need from Oracle regarding, sales, lead generation, demonstration environments and joint marketing. These points suggested solutions to a few points brought to the table by the Partners.
Overall the inauguration day was a success where Partners had the opportunity to address their comments and feedback and Oracle presented solutions on how to gain the most out of the Oracle Partnership to achieve success. ClearPeaks is grateful to all Partners who helped in sharing their opinions and experiences on being a partner and is honored to have had the opportunity to represent the Partners’ voice.
